Meet our Team
Event Chair — Janine Johnson is the Founder and President of Oceans for Kids Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating meaningful, community-driven events that support children’s organizations.
Originally from Brazil, Janine began her nonprofit journey in 2005 when she started working at Kids In Distress, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting vulnerable children. There, she quickly advanced into a leadership role, where she managed operations. More importantly, Janine developed a deep, personal connection with the children she served. These early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for helping children and building community connections through impactful initiatives.
Today, Janine is a devoted wife, a proud mother of two boys, and an entrepreneur. She is the co-founder of C&J Architecture and Interiors. To all her endeavors, Janine brings a unique combination of business acumen, creativity, collaboration, and joy. These attributes along with her commitment to community serve her well in her philanthropic work.
Event Co-Chair — Jessie and Chris Gardner relocated from North Carolina to Delray Beach in 2018 after their son was diganosed with CF at 21 days old. They made the move in part because the ocean can help those living with CF.
Immeditaly they both became involved with the Palm Beach Chapter. They chaired two events in 2019 and 2022. Chris is the CF Board President. There is not a cure for CF. Reilly is now 10 years old but still takes 750 pills a month, does treatments daily and meets with his care team every 3 months.
CF does not just affect his lungs. It has a large impact on his pancreas, liver, sinuses and his mental health. The disease is complex and progressive. By partnering with Janine and Oceans for Kids Foundation we look forward to raising funds and awareness of this complex disease.
